I've never had the opportunity to do an A/B. The word is that the SW models are the warmest of the Ric basses. The thing I like most about this bass is the neck pickup. There is a sort of bell like quality to it. Once festival season is wrapped up, I'll try to capture that if she's still around.

don't know much about the trb. I would need to know a precise weight and string spacing to know if I would be interested or not.

I am a weight weenie - 2 blown out shoulders from sports injuries... a pound is huge in terms of pain management...

Not really sure what's considered "light" and "heavy" but I've got a EBMM Stingray 5 HH in stealth black I'm looking to trade for a passive 4 string if you're interested. It's in great condition other than a chip on the back bottom of the bass from the previous owner dropping it

Possible for me heavy begins at 8.5 lbs

I would have taken better care of my shoulders if I had known better... actually I wouldn't have as I was having too much fun each time ;-)

4Mal: whoever installed the Hipshot bridge on that Ric did a heck of a good job! The strings are perfectly centered over the neck which is something I always look for with *ANY* bass. And I MUCH prefer the Hipshot bridge to the stock Ric bridge, which is why I have always swapped out the stocker for the Hipshot in the Ric's I have owned in the past.

Out of curiosity, how much does this Ric weigh?

I get 8 lbs 11 oz (bathroom scale method) with the Hipshot installed. The Hipshot added some weight. Worth it though. It was one of the two lightest ones I could find and had the best figuring of the pair. It came from Wildwood Guitars in Colorado - awesome folks to work with.

Would you be interested in a G&L L-2500? Not sure on the exact weight but I can weigh it when I get home. I play it in church because it's very comfortable and manageable.
