I'm selling my Rickenbacker 4003, made in December 1989 and I bought it new in February 1990. It is all original with no modifications, the original case, hang tag, Ric wipe rag and the buyer will get my original receipt just for interest. It has some dings and chips and I have tried to get as good pictures of those spots as possible. There is very little buckle rash on the back, I really could not get an angle that showed it. The finish has mellowed to a beautiful amber color. There is some cracking on the binding on the neck at each fret, but the neck is straight and the truss rods are in perfect condition. The necks on 4003s varied a lot over the years, but this one is very thin (front to back) for a 4003, not as thin as a 4001, but much thinner than later year 4003s. I would describe the shape of the neck as a "shallow D" shape. There is a little tail lift on the tailpiece, which happened in the first few years I had it when I ran strings that were too heavy gauge. After that I only used light gauge strings and the tailpiece has not lifted any more. I dont know if the Ric-O-Sound jack works because I never used it, but it should. I am only selling it because the arthritis in my hands wont allow me play it anymore. Has roundwounds and will come with a set of lightly used Optima 4440L RB flats. $1999 PayPal or Venmo, shipping $150 CONUS only.
