Deal fell through, I was holding this while someone tried selling some gear...... they pulled out............ so, it's up for sale!!
Subtle Birdseye Maple Neck, Cocobolo Board, Alder Body with a figured Maple top made it 07. There are dots at every "fret" on the side of the neck, it's very easy to play!
This is by far the best fretless bass I have EVER played or owned. The issue is, well, I kinda ended up with a "dream" 5 string fretted bass, and found a Rob Allen 5'er, (gah, I'm moving to 5 strings after 30 years) so this is up for sale!. Bass weights under 7lbs and is everything a Rob Allen should be, but with added versatility
The added Bart pickup is on it's own Bartolini Fretless voiced pre that was kept entirely separate from the stock piezo. It's wired to work based on using a cable that has the ring/tip wires reversed. So, you plug in one cable at it's a Rob Allen through and through, you plug in a "switched" cable and you have a mag pup with Volume (active/passive push/pull), Mid push/pull, and stacked bass/treble. Work was done professionally by Mike Lull!
