Purchased this lined fretless Mouse 30 new from Rob Allen in May 2022. It’s essentially new and flawless as I’ve played it very little. I love Rob Allen’s work, owning 2 other of his instruments as well as other nice basses (mainly Sadowsky). The Mouse is just not getting played.
Here’s the description from the Rob Allen site:
Mouse Maple #1554. This unique Mouse 30 bass features a semi-hollow alder body, and a 1 piece western maple drop top. One piece tops are a quite rare, and I really like this one for it's natural flowing quality and tight curl pattern. The drop top is made by steaming the maple wood, and then putting it into a vacuum press, to wrap it around the alder body, producing a substantial arm contour. The 30" scale neck is made from African mahogany with a lined fretless Goncalo Alves fingerboard and matching bridge. The alder body in combination with the mahogany neck produces an overall warm sound, with a sweet top end and punchy midrange. This Mouse 30 bass weighs in at exactly 5 Ibs!
