Details

This is a 2002 Roscoe Beck 5er in 8/10 condition conservatively. Small chip in the pickguard and small brown line on the back that appears to be under the finish - both pictured. There are a few other little scrapes etc of the normal variety that I can’t get to show up in a photo.

Price is shipped CONUS and includes OHSC with case candy and leather/cloth Fender strap. The case has a few drops of white paint on it.

It is set up with straplock buttons but I’ve always used the strap I’m selling it with - no clips.

A previous owner swapped the knobs out - original knobs included.

This bass deserves all the accolades it gets but 99% of the time I play it with both pickups on single coil mode so I’m moving back to a Jazz bass for now.

Opinionated blowhard. But not mad about it.

I used to own one....even the same color.

I have said it here a bunch. Every bass player should own one at least once. It's that cool, that versatile, that much of a passive tone monster.

In that bass you have close enough for rock and roll versions of a P bass (neck in single), a Jazz (both in single), a Ray (neck in single with bridge in series), a Gibson mudbucker (neck in parallel), Jaco (bridge in single) and many more options to choose from.

Thanks for the support. To my ears, both pickups in single is exactly the sound of a Jazz bass, which it turns out is mostly what I want to play. If this bass had the Jazz body shape I’d keep it forever.

I just put it on the bathroom scale several times and got readings of 9.8, 10.0, and 10.2 lbs, so let's call it 10.

A few more specs:

1.875" at the nut
19mm string spacing
Beautiful pao ferro fretboard
