I'm slashing the price by $500 until 8/26. I'm getting ready for vacation. 8/29 is the last day I can ship. If it doesn't sell by then, I'm keeping it. It's just too good, but I just have so many basses. I'll let the Bass Gods determine the fate of this incredible instrument.
So $1850, UPS or FedEx shipping is on you. Paypal fees are on you.
Speaking of vacation, I'll be going to Gatlinburg, TN on 9/2. So if you are on the path between Greenville, SC and Gatlinburg, TN we can meet up, but pre-payment is required.
Looking for that really special 5 string? Well here you go. Like all Roscoe's, this is an incredible bass that has a beautifully smooth yet punchy sound. The Aguilar humcancelling P/J's and OBP-3 active/passive 18v preamp make this a 'do everything' bass. The Roscoe Century body design is most balanced design I have ever held, and the 8lb, 10oz weight make this bass a dream to play all day and all night!
I do not have the original spec sheet so I don't know the exact age or woods used. As far as age, just from having so many Roscoes in my hands, I would say this one is no more than 5 years old. I will do my best to list the woods but again, I could be off on some.
-The body is a 4 piece. Alder back, swamp ash core, mahogany contrast layer, and koa top.
-The neck is 3 piece maple with 2 mahogany stringers. 35" scale.
-String spacing 18.3mm
-Fingerboard is birdseye maple with a mahogany contrast layer.
-Pickups are Aguilar AG5 P/J-HC, hum cancelling in all positions.
-Preamp is Aguilar OBP-3. I installed this preamp, as the bass came to me with a different, non-working preamp.
-Weight is 8lbs 10 oz.
-Includes original Roscoe grey gigbag w/Roscoe logo.
-Roscoe's natural satin oil finish.
This bass has zero issues and is in fantastic condition. There are no major dings or chunks, but don't expect factory new. This is a used bass that has been played. There will be marks and scuffs if you look very close. The great thing about a Roscoe is they feel like WOOD and this one is no exception, right down to 'imperfections' in the wood such as knots which Roscoe turns into a feature. Rosoce basses are for real and each one is special.
The only trade will consider would be for Canadian Dingwall basses. Ideally an ABZ4 or Super J or P/J. If your Dingwall ticks my boxes, I'll add cash.
I am located in the upstate of South Carolina. I'm an hour from Greenville, Columbia, or Augusta. 2 hours from Charlotte. 3 hours from Atlanta. I can drive within an hour of Greenwood, SC if you want to meet in person.
Now for the pics. If you need to see something specific, let me know.
