I’ve had this bass quite a while and like it a lot, but have decided to let it go as the SKB body shape just isn’t comfortable for me anymore.
I sent this bass to Roscoe a couple of years ago and had the fingerboard planed and refretted. The shop did an outstanding job and it came back playing better than ever. They also did a great job of staining the fingerboard so that it blends nicely with the neck. This bass is older and the original fingerboard and neck had darkened a lot over time. I think you would be hard pressed to tell by looking at it in person that the fingerboard wasn’t original. The only real giveaway is the fact that it is so clean and the frets still look new.
The bass has some honest wear, but is in excellent shape for its age. I believe the body is cedar (though it could be mahogany). The top appears to be maple and has the '3D' carve. The neck is maple and purpleheart and the fingerboard is maple. It has Bartolini pickups and an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. Bass plays and sounds great. It’s also a nice weight for a full bodied sixer at just over 9.6 lbs. Comes with the older style Roscoe lightweight rectangular case with zippers.
PayPal is preferred, but I can make other arrangements if necessary. I will only ship the bass to a US address.
As far as trades go, I would be interested in the following basses +/- $$$ as appropriate:
- Sadowsky 5 String
- MTD 535
- Other 5 strings with 19mm bridge spacing and 1 7/8" nut
- Four string P bass or PJ. Nash, Lakland, Fender AVRI or CS, etc.
- Spector USA or Czech
Any trades would need to be on the lighter side, around 9.25 lbs or under.
