I’ve had this bass quite a while and like it a lot, but have decided to let it go as the SKB body shape just isn’t comfortable for me anymore.

I sent this bass to Roscoe a couple of years ago and had the fingerboard planed and refretted. The shop did an outstanding job and it came back playing better than ever. They also did a great job of staining the fingerboard so that it blends nicely with the neck. This bass is older and the original fingerboard and neck had darkened a lot over time. I think you would be hard pressed to tell by looking at it in person that the fingerboard wasn’t original. The only real giveaway is the fact that it is so clean and the frets still look new.

The bass has some honest wear, but is in excellent shape for its age. I believe the body is cedar (though it could be mahogany). The top appears to be maple and has the '3D' carve. The neck is maple and purpleheart and the fingerboard is maple. It has Bartolini pickups and an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. Bass plays and sounds great. It’s also a nice weight for a full bodied sixer at just over 9.6 lbs. Comes with the older style Roscoe lightweight rectangular case with zippers.

PayPal is preferred, but I can make other arrangements if necessary. I will only ship the bass to a US address.

As far as trades go, I would be interested in the following basses +/- $$$ as appropriate:

- Sadowsky 5 String
- MTD 535
- Other 5 strings with 19mm bridge spacing and 1 7/8" nut
- Four string P bass or PJ. Nash, Lakland, Fender AVRI or CS, etc.
- Spector USA or Czech

Any trades would need to be on the lighter side, around 9.25 lbs or under.

I have one from the same time frame. Great basses, tons of good tones. GLWTS.

Thank you. They really are great basses. This one has a nice resonance to it. The neck profile is a little different than the one on my Century 6. The SKB neck is a little rounder and fuller than the Century. Both necks feel and play great - just two different flavors of good.

These are amazing 6 string basses. The necks feel so comfortable. The price on this is a steal.

The neck on this Roscoe has a little more heft to it than the one on my Century and feels a little fuller in the hand. It is definitely comfortable. I suspect it also contributes to the tone of this guy.

Thanks for the kind words. I always try my best to ensure that anyone interested in one of my basses has all the information they need to make their decision. I've been very fortunate over the last few years to have acquired several great instruments and when it's time to let one go, I want it to go to a good home.

I am looking for another Roscoe 5ver (Selling trading a Zon), but this is a beauty. I do have a Century 6 with a maple board and I love it as well. Hopefully someone will come grab this one. GLWTS!

Would really like to find this sweet bass a good home this weekend. Would prefer it go to someone here on TalkBass, so if you have interest please make an offer.

I've taken basses in trade before that weren't on my wish list, so feel free to offer up what you have. Worst I can say is no. I'm especially fond of Leo's creations and the various descendants. I can't handle full sized Jazz bodies anymore though. I also have a soft spot for Spectors.
