Up for sale is my 2014 Shen Rogeri SB-190. It has a solid spruce top, solid willow sides, and a willow plywood flat back. It's a large 3/4 size bass. I believe the bass is considered a "large 3/4's" due to the depth of it's sides and broad shoulders. I believe this lends to the acoustic volume of the bass. I especially enjoy the clarity of intonation on this bass.
The bass is setup with a low string height of 8mm-5mm, E to G. Nice, thick ebony fingerboard. Beautiful varnish. The neck is very comfortable to play. It's a D neck with a 41.5" string length. Currently strung with a fresh set of medium D'Addario Helicore Pizz.
The bass has a check running along the bottom edge of the internal center brace on it's back. I cannot under any playing circumstances, pizz or arco, get this flaw to make any sort of undesirable, or even discernible sound. The bass is in excellent cosmetic condition.
These have become known as one of the best bang-for-your-buck basses out there and I think that's for good reason. This is a fantastic sounding bass which would be a great option for anyone looking for a focused, fully carved tone in an affordable package, student or professional.
