This is a Sire bass preamp from one of the earlier models, maybe an M2?
It's the 3 band preamp with onboard gain control trim pot, bypass switch, mid sweep, vol/tone stack, and pan (6 holes, 2 stacks).
Essentially, it's like the poor-man's East preamp to a degree. A lot of the same controls and functions (but it's not going to make you as happy as the real East, trust me on that one, there's a reason those cost so much).
The preamp works just fine, I just had it in a bass of mine, A/B'd it with another preamp and I'm keeping that one.
As you can see, I've made some changes to it to make it work for what I did. But I can easily set it up in a custom configuration, should you desire that. If you're interested in this, PM me and we can figure out if it would be something you'd dig.
To answer possible questions:
"Why did you detach the volume/tone/pan board?"
It didn't fit my bass that way. The pots are spaced 32.68mm/1.286" apart and can't easily be modified from that. If you intend to use one of these preamps, it has some specific hole spacing requirements.
"What is the spacing between the mid stack and the other pot?"
33.5mm/1.32". And you can kind of tilt the "other" pot (forgot if it's B or T).
"What is included?"
What you see here, as well as 1 or 2 battery clips. And I'll gladly make it all wired up nice and neat, however your configuration requires. I'll either re-attach that board and shrink tube it or we can arrange other controls.
If you want a more complex setup that requires more parts, it would be more money, but really only the cost of the parts. I love wiring and I'm pretty good at it, so feel free to explore options.
