This bass is in excellent condition. The Aguilar OPB-2 preamp was changed to an SNC 9V HAZ preamp with specs used during the Kramer era. The EMG active pickups were changed to an EMG active P pickup with the black epoxy back used during the Kramer era, and an EMG active J pickup with the brown epoxy back used during the Brooklyn era. The EMG active J pickup with the brown back has a slightly higher output and is a little darker than the EMG active J pickup with the black epoxy back used during the Kramer era. IMO this gives the bass a fantastic tone. I have this same setup in my Spector Kramer NS-2o. The tuners were changed to Hipshot Ultralite which gives the bass a better balance.
I’ve owned four Forte 4 basses over the past years, and the neck on this bass is slightly thinner than the average Forte 4. With my medium sized hands it has a nice feel to it.
This bass was completed 12/16/13, just in time for the 2014 NAMM.
