Well I like 45-105 stainless rounds best. I tried each of these out to arrive at that conclusion. All 6 sets were installed briefly on my 4 string Jazz bass, played for a half hour or less unless otherwise noted. $60 shipped for all 6 sets
Sadowsky Nickels 45-105, installed for 10 minutes.
String Joy Nickels 45-105, installed for 10 minutes. Surprisingly good, I just like stainless better.
Fender Nickel 45-105 I believe, came on a bass I bought here. Sound fresh to me
D’Addarrio NYXL 45-100, came on a bass I bought seller said they were fairly new. Sound great.
D’Addario Chromes flat wound 50, 70, 80, 100 this is a medium and light set combined. Super fresh, only installed for 10 minutes. I used the other stings in the sets to create a 45-105 set for me as they do not sell a set in those gauges.
Halfwound unknown brand, purple wrap I think 45-105, great sound and feel.
inexpensive way to sample a variety of perfectly good strings.
