I got a bunch of sushi box pedals in trade. This is the v1 smoke signal that was basically a clone of the Verellen Meatsmoke.
I thought this was the one I wanted, but after recording a bunch of preamps and listening back to them, I liked my sub mini london underground the best, and got a garage sale 12ax7 london underground from sushi.
Lots of low end available in this circuit, more than I needed. Drive channel is real usable tube overdrive that sounds great.
I would consider a trade for the dreamcatcher, or if this is up long enough, or I guess if Nathan wants to trade, the Venus.
I saw a meatsmoke sold here for like $900, and a few smoke signals around this price point, not sure what versions they were.
The pedal has a white LED when its on, and the blue and red leds that light up when the corresponding channel is selected. Velcro on the back. Original stamped box.
Full disclosure, there is a low volume, high pitched whine when I use the normal output into my sonicake IR DI. This sound is either gone, or just filtered out when I used the recording output. I was not able to replicate this sound with any other DIs, or even through the normal output straight into my interface with a 1/4 cable. It seems to just be this combination of pedal/di. I talked to Nathan about it, and I did the polarity mod, and that didn't change anything. I have no idea if this is an issue with all v1 Smoke Signals, or possibly even the original meatsmoke, because I don't have any other ones to compare.
