This is an older SX P-Bass with upgraded pickups. It has the original Fender-like headstock which I prefer over the current style SX is using. This was bought overseas - I'm not sure they ever used this headstock in the US market. If they did they must have soon discontinued it in favor of something less lawsuit-worthy. It has the big fat chunky neck you want in a P-Bass, and the standard layout of controls and pickups. One upgrade: the original pickups died, so I replaced them with some pickups out of a U.S. Fender P-Bass. The fit was not exact, if you look very closely you can see a little gap around the "ears" of the pickup surrounds, but it's not visible from a few feet away.
The bass sounds great, deep and growly with some punch. Everything else besides the pickups is original. There are a couple light scratches on the body that would probably buff out, and if you want to adjust the pickups higher, you'll need to put some new foam under them - the foam I had on hand was pretty thin. Otherwise this is good to go with low action, a great neck, great pickups. A good grab-and-go p-bass.
Price is $150 plus shipping.
