Two old Czech basses and one Kay S-8

Discussion in 'For Sale: Double Basses' started by Morellibass, Dec 2, 2013.

  1. I have three upright basses I need to sell. One is a Czech roundback with violin corners $7500, one is a Czech Gamba shaped $7500, both fully carved with highly flamed necks with the fancy purfling design below the button on back and the third is a 1946-47 Kay S-8 $2200. I live close to New Orleans in case someone wants to try them out. Jim 504-559-2384 I'll try to get some pictures posted soon, having trouble getting them to upload.

Could you tell me the string lengths of the two Czech basses and whether they have
D or Eb necks? Thank you!

  3. Czech bass with violin corners is 41 1/2" scale length and has Eb neck and the gamba shaped Czech bass has a 41 1/2 string length and D neck.
