Very Rare Mid 80's Original Quantum Modulus PJ (originally posted "TBX" which was an error.) 35" scale 8.30 pounds 24 frets Alembic P and J pickups into a active on-board 9 volt pre-amp. The "tone" control sounds like an active filter, wide open you get tons of hi-fi sparkle, dialing it back slowly gives you some vintage tone that cuts through but sounds like a old school bass amp, "no tweeter" vibe. The range of tones on this bass coupled with a simple straight forward pre-amp is incredible. The low notes ring out like a grand piano, and the overall character of this bass is what you would expect from an instrument with this pedigree. No truss rod. Condition: The neck is in great shape, as are the frets especially for the age of this instrument. Body has scratches and a couple of gouges. This bass has seen some action. I adjusted the action, intonation and put new foam under the pickups. No trades, for sale only. Please private message me if you plan on making an offer. Feel free to request more photos if you are making a serious enquiry. $1950 shipped CON US PayPal. Comes with hard shell case.
minor note: There is no such thing as a TBX-4. This is the original Quantum thru-body neck, which has a symmetrical body joint, so a lefty is not a compromised build.
What year was this made ? 1987 or 1988 my guess I own 5 Modulus with neckthrough construction; the sound is fantastic!! I wish this was not a lefty ! I would have pulled the trigger already ! Good luck with the sale !
