Hi everyone,

I'm selling this stunning 1987 Wal Mk1 (founder Ian Waller's era).
Despite the age the bass is in excellent condition.

This is the best bass I ever had, but I'm getting a new Wal Mk3 soon and this one needs to go. They're not cheap LOL.

The bass features shedua facings, brazilian mahogany core, indian rosewood, maple&mahogany neck and 21 frets. It weights around 10lbs -not too heavy-. I mounted Schaller light tuners on it for a better balance but I still have the original Schaller tuners.
Original Wal hardcase included.

Here's a recent clip I did so you can get an idea of the amazing sound of the bass:

If you're looking for that Blood Sugar Sex Magik's bass sound, or that Justin Chancellor's tone, this is the bass you're looking for.

The bass lives in Barcelona (Spain) but I'm travelling to Los Angeles the 18th for the Namm Show so I could take the bass with me -hoping that there's no problems with the whole rosewood law thing-.
I could also ship it worldwide (shipping costs not included).

I'm asking $5000.

IMPORTANT: NO TRADES, SALE ONLY (I need the money!)

PM me or email me at [email protected] if you're interested :)

I wish I could afford it!

Aside from that, just before coming here I felt like I had a pretty good practice session, then I watched your video and realized that I suck mightily. I couldn't do that bass justice anytime soon. Great work and awesome bass!

If you haven't watched the video, do it. It's a beautiful bass but the slap solo is amazing.

the rosewood law shouldn't be an issue, from what i understand it only affects corporations/businesses. since you're a private individual selling something you personally own, you should be good

Simply stunning and deeply painful as I once owned an identical bass and was somewhat conned out of it by someone. Sigh. I'd yield several instruments to get this "back"!
My whole cadre of other basses needs to behave or they'll be on the block. :)

Thanks. I've read that too. Apparently I won't have problems specially if I'm travelling with the bass cause it's for personal use and the weight of the rosewood is less than 20lbs. You can get in trouble if you're travelling with more than 20lbs of rosewood... but that would be a bass with 50 strings haha.
