PRICE DROP!! Warmoth Swamp Ash body with KILLER Birds Eye Maple neck and fb. Purchased from original owner and TB member in March. New 1" 11/16th nut, Active EMG P/J pickups installed, new flat top chrome knobs and 3-way toggle switch, along with strings and set-up since then.

Love this bass and the stunning neck, but alas Maple is not the fretboard for me. The body was originally a body blank from Warmoth, the P shape was done by the original owner and is not perfect with all the contours, but is great, including the tummy cut shown. Even includes a rare recessed neck plate. Incredible wood grain all over this beauty. Clear gloss on the body, also not perfect, some wood grain texture can be seen or felt on rear upper horn. Neck is more of a satin finish to me, not as glossy. Weighs in at a scant 8 lbs 15 ozs.

Decorative wood piece at base of neck is only to hide the truss rod access, and compliments the scalloped edges at base of neck. Both added by original owner as accent pieces. If it seems like too much wood, add your favorite pickguard, I even have a matte black Warmoth pickguard if your interested. I prefer none.

If Active EMG pickups are not your thing, I can put the original BassLine passive pickups back in and adjust the price. Same goes for the Schaller straplocks, if you don't want'em, I'll take them off. The new strings are Rotosound Swing Bass 66s, if those are not your cup of tea, I'll keep them. Bass also has Schaller tuners. Bass comes with very worn out Sterling by Music Man gig bag (shown) for shipping purposes and packed well.

$475 OBO + shipping. Or BODY only $250, NECK only $250 Priced to sell!!

They are indeed both Warmoth. The Birds-Eye neck is exactly like my other BE neck from Warmoth, but even better! The neck is the reason I bought it. The rear route on the body with the control cavity cover is also identical to my Swamp Ash Warmoth I've had since '88. This bass is even better in person!

The home-craved body has me doubting. Is the neck Warmoth?

See above ^^^ in addition, if you are truly interested, I'll pull the neck and send you a pic of the Warmoth seal burned into both the body and neck. It just had a setup, but if you don't mind, I don't mind. Thanks for the interest!

Thanks, I did not mean to imply doubts about the body being Warmoth. I was just checking on the neck. I really like this bass.

the P shape was done by the original owner and is not perfect with all the contours

Clear gloss on the body, also not perfect

These were my concerns about the body.
I don't mind if the contours are off, as long as nothings wanky.
Will the body need a refinish, or is the clear coat good with just one small area blemished?

Sorry for so many questions, but the bass does interest me.

No problem at all, questions are great! I don't want to leave ANY stone unturned.

The body is not wanky in any way, other than the contours that I mentioned and you don't seem to mind, it is great! I really dig Swamp Ash and the grain is fabulous, but in all honesty the body doesn't hold a candle to this neck! I really did buy it b/c the neck was to die for! Man I so wish I could bond with a Maple f/b, but I have tried and for some reason I always go back to Rosewood.

The finish is also great, I would be shocked if you thought it needed a refinish. There is just the one area I mentioned. I personally think its a bit shiny/glossy and candy like for my tastes. I like things a bit more dull and worn looking. Most would say the opposite.

If you're truly interested, I'd be happy to cut a deal, especially if you don't want the straplocks, Rotos or EMGs. Don't forget I have those Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups that I know I won't use, if you prefer those. Shoot me an offer via PM, I am much more interested in seeing it go to a good home than hanging onto something I know won't work for me! Thanks again 1954.

I really like the scalloped fingerboard, too.

Really not a difficult job to do it, either. I'm thinking about doing it myself!

:D
