Warwick Corvette Hot Rod Limited Edition 2005 5 String Bass - AKA “Hot Blond”

No trades. Shipping to USA only. $1350 payment by check or USPS money order or cash for local pickup. Please check my excellent feedback if you have any concerns about buying from me. I just sold my Dingwall to a happy buyer here a few days ago and have sold a Parker Fly Bass, USA Fender Precision and others here, all to satisfied, happy buyers.

I will split the UPS shipping charges 50/50 with you. To be packed well in a bass specific shipping box and insured.

Only 250 of these amazing basses have been produced worldwide and it has been personally signed by Warwick founder Hans Peter Wilfer. Only 8.2 pounds! (Measured on my bathroom scale) Serial number 5/168.

I am the original owner and purchased it new from an authorized dealer. Includes all of the original accessories: Complete User Kit, Certificate of Authenticity, new unused strap-locks, truss rod and bridge wrenches, all hang tags, user manual, warranty card and Gig bag.

In nearly new, near mint condition with very low hours of use in my non-smoking home. The original strings are still on the bass. Electronics are fully functional with no noisy controls. The action is completely adjustable with no issues.

To be really nitpicky, there are 2 tiny hard to see dings on the bottom edge and a few very light rub marks on the back (Which would not come out in the pics). The truss rod tool rubbed lightly on the plastic cover edge. The E and A string bridge saddle top edges have lightly worn black paint that I touched up with a black marker pen.

Excellent variety of tones, and Great playability. I am selling only because I’m just not playing 5-strings enough to justify keeping it.

Just like people look forward every year to the Daytona 500 or the Indianapolis 500, bassists all over the world anxiously await the introduction of each year´s limited edition bass from Warwick. This year, Warwick´s newest collector´s piece is the Corvette "Hot Rod" Ltd. 2005, and it is a beauty!

To create this masterpiece, Warwick started with the popular Corvette body style and then started piling on the custom options. The body is made from premium swamp ash and topped off with an AAA flamed maple top. Between the swamp ash body and the flamed maple top is a multi-layer veneer of Ekanga, which runs around the entire body. The neck is made out of flamed maple and the maple fingerboard features custom planet inlays. For a special touch, Warwick decided to forego their trademark black headstock for a custom flamed maple headstock, making the entire bass a symphony of beautiful blonde woods. To top off the cosmetics of this instrument, Warwick added black hardware and a natural satin finish and the satin finish means you do not need to wax this bass!

The motor underneath the hood of the Hot Rod is something to be admired if not worshipped. The 5-string version comes with active MEC soapbar pickups and a 3-band MEC active preamp. The combination of the tone woods and the top-of-the-line electronics creates a powerful sound machine that is capable of performing in all genres of music.

The Hot Rod looks great, but an added surprise comes when you pick it up - it is light!

Warwick designed the body with a hollow tone chamber inside resulting in warmer lows and a much lighter bass weight. If you have admired Warwick basses in the past, but thought they were a bit too heavy to play for a long time, then this is the bass for you!

Whether you are drag racing through the bridge of a metal song or cruising through the tight corners of a funk chorus, the Hot Rod is the coolest ride you could ever dream of driving. If you are interested in test driving this ride, tell your local Warwick dealer to call you when the Hot Road arrives in the showroom!

The bass is numbered and has been personally signed by Warwick founder Hans Peter Wilfer. Only 250 of these amazing basses have been produced worldwide and just like all LTD models since 2000, this will sell in record time.

It seems to be the rare 5-string where the low B is as clear (non-"wooly", & non-clangy overtones) as the other strings -- and _balanced_ with them.

How would you describe the sound of the low B on this Corvette??

Warwick did a great job with the multi-laminate neck, construction and woods to create a 34" scale B string with very good playability and a well defined midrange punch. This is by far, the best 34" scale B string I have owned. That said, a Dingwall 37" scale is even better.

Wish I could buy this one now! Poor timing for me :-/ beautiful unit. Anyone know of any audio samples for this model? Curious about the sound with the tone cavities.
