I had one of these basses for six years or so. Excellent German craftsmanship and beautiful tone. Both steel and gut sets always sounded great. If this bass is like the one I had, it is perfect for close mic recording; authoritative enough to drive, not boomy, and even tone in all registers.
This would be perfect for someone who needs to play arco and pizz. Mine got a killer pizz sound with Flexocors.
