I’ve owned this one over 30 years. I traded it here back in 2013 to a TBer in NYC. Shipped it to him via UPS and it was damaged during shipping……neck was broken at the headstock. Not completely broken off but cracked bad. I was going to send it to a luthier in Austin at the time (said he could repair it) then “life happened and I forgot about even still owning it. Found it last weekend still in OHSC in my studio closet.
Anyway, it’s for sale if one of you guys want it.
Other than the neck issue, which is a big issue, it’s in really nice condition. Electronics work as they should. Body has some really nice finish checking. Bass is not beat up at all(except for the cracked neck)
The thought crossed my mind to remove the pups and use them in some sort of Barry Oakley Tractor bass, or something, but other than the issue, it’s in really good condition. I’ve owned a couple of these over the years and really liked playing them.
I’ll only ship FedEx ground to lower 48. Actual shipping cost on buyer.
I have no idea if I have it priced right with the repair it needs. It needs to go…..I’m almost 70 and still play a lot, but I’m just not motivated to get this one repaired.
I guess I would trade for a short scale bass with cash going either way….prefer a straight sale though.
Here is the listing from 2013: SOLD - '74 Guild JS II Short Scale
