1955 King Mortone
This is an exceptional instrument.
New bass bar, sound post, Despiau bridge, and endpin assembly. Voice is beefy, clear, and authoritative without being overly thick, muddy, or dark. The arco tone similarly is suprisingly easy to speak and resonant.
The neck has been masterfully shortened by James Condino to a comfortable 41.5” scale with 2 carbon fiber rods running the length under the fingerboard.
Currently setup in 5ths with Spirocore RM Weich C and G with Gamut Pistoy gut D and Dlugolecki A, but I can put a set of standard tuned Spirocore on at buyer’s request.
Amplifies VERY well with a Yamahiko M8 pickup with the 4.7 cap installed.
The only reason I am selling is because I’m a 5-string player and this plays far too well as-is as a 4-string to ever consider conversion.
Price is firm, sorry.
