Up for sale is the last of my bass 'collection.' I've decided it's time to pare it down to just what is being played and keep great instruments in the hands of people who are playing them. This is a 1959 Fender Precision bass. The body has been refinished in period correct Nitro with a very nicely yellowed Olympic White finish. There are a few chips and scratches which I've tried to picture. The rest of this bass is original. I brought it up to Mike at F Bass in Hamilton and he disassembled it and photographed it for me. The original frets are in good shape due in large part to the bass wearing flats for a long time. Truss rod turns easily in both directions. The pots date to 1958. The neck is dated to March, 1959. The neck cavity shows where the original finish was a 3 color sunburst. The pickup cavity also has a '59 penciled in it. The original bridge has some oxidization but is in working order. I have the thumb rest and the bridge cover but do not have the pickup cover. Bass will ship in a non-original Fender case. I've had this in the hands of 3 pros and all said it was the nicest feeling Precision neck they'd ever played. I may choose to take this ad down as I'm torn about selling it one year before it's 60th birthday. $95 shipped to CONUS from Niagara Falls NY. Shipping to Canada will be higher. No other countries at this time. PAYPAL. Insurance will be at buyer's discretion and cost. No trades please. Thanks for looking.
