For sale 1963 Kay C1

1963 Kay C1 with a brand new bridge and aluminum bridge adjusters. Also brand new is the 1/2” ebony fingerboard, as well as the sound post. Other than some minor chipping around the edges, the bass is in excellent shape and has a lot of life left in her! It did recently suffer the classic break at the neck heel, but you couldn’t tell by the way it looks, sounds, or feels!

This bass sounds just like a Kay. That classic, rich in the mids, punchy tone that blends so well. I find it’s a little darker than your typical Kay, due to the 1/2” ebony fingerboard recently put on. Strung up with Spirocores (included!) It sounds great live and in the studio, in my opinion, of course, but also in the opinion of other bass players and lay-listeners, who tell me so.

Realist pickup included as well as a very used mooradian soft case.
