This is the real deal- 1983 Yamaha "Broadbass" made in Japan BB2000 in the most desireable red sunburst finish. Gorgeous 5 piece neck through construction with the coveted reverse PJ pickup and blade J. These don't come up for sale that often and out of the 3 of these I've owned over the years this is the lightest and best sounding. Plays like the best P bass you've ever tried and sounds twice as good. All original except for replacement Schaller strap buttons, comes with original leather gig bag and truss rod adjustment tool.
There is a lot of surface wear on the body, I tried to picture everything. Most notable is buckle rash scratches on the back and some dings around the body edge. As is the case with any 42 year old BB the higher frets have some solid wear from slapping. The rest of the frets probably need attention, though I got it to play nicely how I set up basses, that is with a low action and slight fret buzz. The bridge has some finish oxidation though I oiled the set screws and all 8 of them turn fine. Pickups and truss rod adjust as intended and work great. All 4 tuners work and seem ok.
I am selling this as-is and as-pictured. If you would like any more details or pictures please send me a message.
I really do love this bass. It would be perfect for me, it's just that every other bass I have has the bridge offset towards the nut, which I've found is more comfortable on a strap. This feels very much like a solid P bass, whereas I'm used to more of an offset Tbird style shape.
Free shipping. I can ship internationally but from experience it will be expensive.
Thank you
