I messed up and bought a Roscoe awhile back (and have another inbound), so I've got some move some great basses that I'd rather keep. So, no trades, I need the cash.
This is an early 1988 StingRay 5 (introduced in 1987, first year of production was 1988) in blue burst. You can see in the pics, this bass has been played, and played, and played; it definitely has its share of bumps, bruises, scratches, and wear, but it still plays and sounds fantastic. You'll also see that this one has a very figured flame maple fretboard. It's tough to capture flame in photos, but I did my best.
I bought it used and promptly took it to Straight Frets in Austin where it was PLEK'd. I was told that the fretboard has a bit of a ramp up above the 12th fret and that the machine leveled out the frets accordingly. He had it setup with what I'd consider stupid low action when I picked it up and I had to raise it to accommodate my playing style.
It's rather hefty at 10 lbs 14.7 oz, but balances well on my strap.
