There's a "golden era" of Musicman basses, if you ask me. And this is one of the finest examples of that!

1993 Musicman Stingray
2-band EQ
Rosewood board
Ash body (I think)
Original tolex case
9 lbs, 15 oz

I got this bass a few years back and was INSTANTLY in love. The 2 band EQ is definitely an awesome setup for the classic Stingray tone. It keeps it simple, but the bass sounds OH so good.
The neck is nicely figured maple, has the ultra-smooth gun oil finish, and has the nice rosewood board as well.
When I got this, it was kind of a closet classic. I believe the first owner bought it, played it for a little, then stashed it away because the finish was damn near perfect. And while I've used it quite a bit, I'd say the finish is still stellar.
The hardware is shiny and clean, the bass works phenomenally, the frets are like new, the action gets low... and saying all of that makes me wonder why the hell I'm selling this. (Long story short, GAS.)
The body and neck are dated 92, but EB said the serial is a 93 number. For the detail freaks, this doesn't have the offset "Flea" bridge, so it's centered on the bass differently. This doesn't make any difference in how great the bass is.

People who are looking at Stingrays tend to know what they're looking at, so I really don't have to preach specs at all. What I will do is say this: I've owned a LOT of Musicman basses in my life. This is easily one of my top 3! It's just a sweet sounding and playing bass. It was built when EBMM was really concentrating on building basses, using the best woods and techniques that they could.
I've owned the "Classic" models and this pummels those. This is made better and plays and sounds better for a lot less.

This bass will be freshly restrung, setup, and intonated.
There are no major signs of wear to speak of. It's 22+ years old, so there's a few signs of use, but this is really clean, trust me on that! The case has some wear and tear, but nothing horrible.
As time goes by, these older ones are getting harder and harder to find. People are starting to realize how good the early 90s ones are and keeping them. So this may be your only chance to find one quite like this...

$950 shipped to the US.

Money order or Paypal only.
International shipping will be possible, but likely very expensive.

NO TRADES.
I wouldn't sell this if I didn't have a grand plan, it's a killer bass.
I guess I shouldn't say NO trades... if you happen to have a trade that's wildly in my favor, I'd consider it. But who wouldn't, right?!? :smug:

I've been looking for a Sterling but this is really intriguing....This seems to be around the weight of a Sterling? I like Jazz necks but I'm used to the neck on my Ray34 so it wouldn't be much of an issue. Can this get as bright as a 3 band Stingray?

Yeah, it can definitely cover quite a spectrum of tone. Simple, yet profound. Here's a quick sample of the treble range I just GarageBanded...

This is one of the "Magic" Rays that the new ones can't even come close to and one heck of an honest great guy to deal with. This bass is worth much more then the selling price in this condition.
