This ‘08 Japanese made Sadowsky appears to be unplayed. It’s in excellent, near mint condition. It’s a beautiful build. I love the aged white (almost yellow) finish with the maple fingerboard. This weighs in just about at 9lbs.
Can run either active or passive. In active mode there is a three band - bass/treble/ midrange eg with a variable midrange frequency knob.
This has Sadowsky’s VTC circuit. In passive mode here is what it does (in Rodger’s own words)
“It works just like a standard Fender tone control. It is a passive control in which 10 is flat and as you roll it down it knocks off a broad swath of high end to give you a warmer tone. A little rolled off knocks off a lot of string noise. All the way rolled off, it gives you a lot of that "motown/flatwound" sound.
Although the control is passive, it functions with the bass in either active or passive mode.
I find it much more useful and musical than an active treble roll off on the preamp. And because it operates so differently than active controls, you can actually boost treble on the preamp and cut highs with the VTC at the same time.”
On all a top-notch Bass. Great way to get that Sadowski sound and feel without the $4000 plus price tag.
