Details

Near mint 2011 Roscoe SKB 3005 for sale/trade.

Specs:
Mahogany Body
Myrtle Top
Maple/Purpleheart Neck
Pau Ferro Fingerboard
Bartolini Electronics
Hipshot hardware (adjustable string spacing on each saddle, 17-18.3mm)
OHSC and tools for saddles and truss rod included
I don't have a scale at home, but my calibrated shoulders tell me it weighs between 9.5 and 10 pounds--standard SKB weight.

Bass is in amazing shape. I can't find a single scratch in the finish--it's like glass all over. I'd say this bass is a 9.8 out of 10. The only blemish I can find is some slight wear around the hole for the truss rod. Not the finish, just directly around the hole, underneath the fretboard--truss rod functions perfectly. Tone is amazing, action is low, brand new set of Pure Blues strings installed, brand new batteries installed.

I bought this bass from eBay and the previous owner was the second owner. He said this bass first belonged to a friend who purchased it new, fell on hard times shortly after, and he bought it to help his friend out. He said he played it maybe 10 times since he's owned as he's primarily a six string (Roscoe) player. So this bass is a definite closet queen.

Main interest is in a Modulus, but will consider trade options from the following brands:

Gould
Zon
Sadowsky
MTD
Pedulla

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Beautiful bass! Very classy looking.

I know the spec sheet reads mahogany body but that sure looks like walnut to me. Certainly never seen mahogany with a grain like that. Regardless, it's as pretty from the rear as it is from the front!

The Roscoe spec sheet indicates it's for bass serial number 682. The bass serial number on the headstock in the photo is 6282! Were those Roscoe employees on a strike back in 2011 and back-filled with scrubs or am I missing something? :roflmao:

Good question! When I ordered it, I sent all the pics including the s/n and birth certificate. Here's the reply I got directly from Gard at Roscoe:

Jeff -

According to our records (and they seem to match the photos), here are the
specs on the bass you have on the way:

SKB Custom 5
Burl Myrtle top
Walnut Body
Gloss Natural finish
Bartolini CB pickups
Bartolini NTMB-F (3-band) preamp
Maple/Purpleheart/Maple neck
Pau Ferro fingerboard
Diamondwood nut
Black hardware

The bass was completed in October of 2011, and originally in stock at Gelb
Music in Redwood City, CA

If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

Thanks
Gard

This is all correct, not sure what happened with the letter - must have been a really bad day in Gard-land. o_O Tell whoever you sell/trade it to to get in touch with me, and I'll make sure they get a correct letter.

No problem, Gard--we all have our days! Looks like the letter just missed a "2" and I believe the body is walnut rather than mahogany. Regardless, an amazing instrument!
