Well - I gave a 5-string bass another try - just to prove to myself that I'm a 4-string player, at heart!
2013 Carvin PB5 - beautifully figured, swamp ash (tung oil) body, 5-piece maple/walnut neck - active/passive electronics. Comes in a Carvin (black tolex) case.
Besides some scuffs on the pick guard - can't find a mark on the bass - as close to new as you'll find.
Looking to trade for an (active) 4-string Carvin bass. Would STRONGLY consider a PB4 (active with Jazz pickup), SB4000 (active) or ICON 4P.
Would also be interested in a trade for a Stingray or Sterling. Might consider other basses also - so throw them by me!
I believe this bass was around $1,175 new. Figuring around an $850 - $950 trade value (given the condition). Really not considering an outright sale (yet).
This bass sounds GREAT - sounds HUGE. It's the easiest playing playing 5 I've come across. Plays like butter - LOVE the bass - just one too many strings!
