I've got the same style American Fender P with the same Barto upgrade. It's a superb upgrade choice if you ever wanted a bit more beef in your tone.

How would you compare the tone of these Barts to the original pickups?

I heard the geezer butlers have a more high mid punch then the barts but then again i guess its what taste any one is looking for. :) thanks

EMGs have a lot more "click". You can hear the string clang more- which is cool for certain genres. But I like a P that sounds warm and thick. I'll take metal elsewhere.

Opinionated blowhard. But not mad about it.

Discussing your favorite pickups in a sale thread is generally considered "bad form". We generally stick to the topic of the item for sale over here. We have a pickups and electronics section located here....;)

have you tried the geezer butler pick ups? they are very very awesome for a P bass

Nah. My EMG bass is my Fortress ONE, and that runs some X's. I like the solid-ground tone I get from the Barto for my P.
