Details

Up for sale this 2017 Ibanez SR30TH5PII bass. This is a 34” 5-string instrument. 1.771” is the nut width.

7.77 pounds on my fish scale.

I’m the original owner of this bass.

This is one of the basses created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Soundgear basses.
This is the second run of the Premium line.
It has an all-wenge neck with heel truss rod access.
The body is hollow with a mahogany back and lacewood top.

This instrument has a woody tone that one does not expect from an Ibanez Soundgear.
I think the goal was to use the hollow body as a way to get a woody tone from this bass.
They succeeded. This bass really resonates.

The Nordstrand pickups with the preamp sound great. Any sound you need can be found here.
The “Big Singles” are focused and warm.

The wenge neck gives a low mid bump. The fretwork is perfect.

All of the woods are here. This instrument has mahogany, rosewood, wenge, ash, lacewood, and maple.

This instrument was purchased as a B-stock.
This instrument has had some work done to it.
These two facts are related to each other.
The sale price reflects this.

The wenge neck was green in color. This was solved by placing the instrument in the sunlight next to a window. Wenge is green in color when cut. When wenge is exposed to sunlight, it turns brown. The dealer didn’t know this.

The bridge could not intonate the E and B strings. The Saddle placement screws for the E and B strings needed to be longer for intonation. I found the correct screws, but not in black. This why these screws are a different color. The bridge now intonates perfectly.

The original fixed saddle for the A string had a metallic rattle to it. All bridge saddles were replaced with up-to-date Ibanez saddles. The string spacing for this instrument can now be adjusted.
Gold bridge saddles could not be found after weeks of waiting. Black saddles were purchased instead.

The tuners were replaced with Gotoh Res-o-lites.
The original standard Gotoh tuners, along with the wenge neck, caused neck dive when coupled to the semi-hollow body. The Res-o-lite tuners resolved the neck dive. The original tuners were gold so they were replaced with gold.

The original nut from Graphtech needed to be replaced recently. It was replaced with the Graphtech replacement for Ibanez basses listed on the Ibanez website.

No changes have been made to the electronics of this bass. The pickups and electronics sound great(!) so there was no need to change them.

There are no scratches or swirls on the instrument.
If there were scratches, they would be tough to find because of the matte finish and top wood.
There is a small glue mark next to the nut.

The bass is currently strung with the Daddario XL 5-string set. I put a new battery in it.

It will come with the Original Hardshell Case (OHSC). The Ibanez multi-tool and case candy will be included as well. You will receive the original tuners and bridge screws.

$800 shipped CONUS.

It will be packaged in the OHSC and the OHSC will be boxed in a padded bass guitar box with no markings.

It will be difficult to contact me during business hours. I will answer in the weekday evenings in the order I received messages.
