I am selling my 3/4 size Glaesel double bass, Model DBC73, serial# Z7805. The bass is ebony trimmed and has a brown to amber finish. I have owned this bass since it was purchased new in 1996. In high school this bass got me through several years of Symphony Youth Orchestra as well as several solo and ensemble competitions. As an adult I have used it to play a variety of settings including pit orchestras for musicals and plays, as well as chamber and community orchestras. The bass has seen steady play and has developed a nice warm sound.
The fingerboard is in great shape. It has an upgraded adjustable bridge. The instrument itself is in great shape with no cracks, dents, gouges, or open seams. The sides to have normal varnish wear and the bottom of the tailpiece does have some scratching from the zipper on my old case. The string length is 41" and it had a D-Neck. It is currently strung with D'Addario Kaplan medium gauge orchestral strings. Strings are pretty new and have minimal playing time on them.
I can include a certificate of appraisal, done by the Loft Violin Shop in Columbus, Ohio. I had it appraised there before I moved it to Santa Rosa last year. Included with the bass is a brand new.
