I want to advise the TB community about this person. I made a deal to purchase the fender victor bailey 5 from this person on Saturday 5th Oct. He was great during the sale, provided me good information about the bass and was very helpful, in all great communication. He told me that he would ship the bass on Tuesday, I say ok. All good until he received the payment the communication came to a complete stop. Meanwhile, from Saturday to Monday I send him 6 texts trying to find the weight about the bass and updates on the shipping process. He didn’t replay to any of my texts Emails or TB PM’s. Until Monday, when I send him a text saying that since there was no communication from his part to either provide me with a tracking number on Tuesday or get a refund because I felt the lack of communication took me to believe this was a fraud. He then Finally, send me a text on Tuesday morning, all mad, saying he didn’t want to hold my hand answering questions, he didn’t have the time to waist. He then took it upon himself and decided to stop the shipping of the bass and told me that he would wait on PayPal instructions. I text him several times after to try to get a refund and he avoided to do the refund, didn't answer any of mine massages. I had no choice but to do a claim with PayPal. If I would not have PayPal this person would have stolen my money.
I sold Otto a bass, i gave him a detail time line of when i would package it, ship it etc. He would not stop asking question and almost an hourly update on the bass. he was asking things that there wasn't even a way for me to know. eventually i stop answering his emails, texts and calls. we said we would cancel the deal and issued him a refund right away. If you deal with him be aware of this.
My fretless MTD purchase was neither a bad or good buying experience, I would call it just OK. The bass arrived in need of minor repair to the fingerboard which was not mentioned in the description or PM conversations. The fret lines were higher than the rest of the fingerboard because the fingerboard had shrank which I know due to humidity and so on can happen to a bass from time to time. But the bass arrived unplayable with a buzz from the high fret lines on almost every note, so it cost me another $100 to repair immediately upon arrival. After the $100 fingerboard leveling repair, the bass was back in perfect shape and just like new. Even the bass not being as described would have been OK. But my only issue is that when I emailed the seller about the problem, no response. Eventually, I filed a paypal dispute. He finally replied, refusing to help cover the cost of the repair. I was told to raise the action which did not help. Eventually I won the paypal dispute, but I would have like better communication and some degree of compromise or follow through after the sale.
