$300 FIRM
Please read this ad CAREFULLY. Parts of this may appear that I am joking. I can assure you I am 100% serious.
Early 2000's Accugroove El Whappo.
No trades, no shipping, local pickup in Maple Valley WA only.
This is a project. Read that again...this is a project.
This is an early El Whappo. It used to have the famed accuswitch. Well, I smoked the crossover nearly 20 years ago and it was replaced with the revised crossover and back panel.
Oh...and I blew up all of the drivers at a show in 2008. They have all been replaced as well.
Here's the deal. The cab doesn't work. Whats wrong with it? Don't know, don't care. Did I smoke the crossover again? Maybe. Did my power amp go rogue and send straight DC to all of the drivers? Sure, why not? All I know is that the tweeter is the only thing with output.
The price is dirt cheap because I don't care. I just pieced together an entirely new rig and this thing is taking up space. For $300 this can be your problem. Is it a $50 fix that I'm going to kick myself over? Maybe. Is it going to take all new drivers and rewiring? It might...but you'll still end up with a stupid screaming deal.
FAQ:
What's wrong with the cab?
Again, don't know. Don't care.
What drivers did you replace it with?
Pretty sure Eminence Kappa Kappa Something. This was 16 years ago and I was..."experimenting" with drugs....alot.
Did the cab work after you replaced all the drivers?
Yup. Worked perfectly from 2008 till 2014 when something went wrong.
Did it sound good with the new drivers?
Yup. It punched like Mike Tyson in his prime.
Can you check the drivers and let me know?
Nope. Too busy for all of that. I already told you what I remember.
Is....is that dog hair all over it?
Yes, you are quite observant.
Will you clean it up?
Nope. Adds to the toan.
Are the casters all there and in good shape?
All 4 are here. "Good shape" is a relative term. One is a little wonky.
Whats the overall condition?
Cab is solid and structurally sound. The covering is in kind of rough shape, but there are no tears. The grill has some scuffs. There are no cracks or separations in the cab itself.
Will you ship it?
Nope.
Even if I cover shipping?
No. I'm old and I don't care enough to try and box it up and cart it off to FedEx.
Will you meet me somewhere near Maple Valley, like Kent or Seattle?
Nope. For this price you come to me. In the daylight. On my schedule. After you pay me, you load it up...so don't bring your Tesla 3 or your Prius. El Whappo only rides in gasoline powered cars (Don't ask me, i dont know why.) And bring help if you're old and broken like me. EDIT: I'll meet you in Bellevue, but only because I work there. It'll travel in the bed of my truck, so make sure you want to meet on a day that's not raining.
Is this the mystery grab bag of bass cabs?
Essentially yes, that's the idea. Could you rewire it and have everything work for $50 and some time? Absolutely, there's a chance. But I think for the price, even in the worst case scenario, you'll still end up with an El Whappo at a screaming good deal.
Would you take a little less for it?
Price is firm. Offers will be ignored. I might even make fun of you a little.
Seriously, I'm not that big of a jerk. I just have a lot of things to deal with at the moment and don't have the time to mess with this. I figured someone could pick this up for cheap, get it up and running, and go hurt some feelings. All at a price that, no matter what, ends up being a bargain. I'd love to see it go to a younger player with some technical know-how, but honestly in the end I just need this gone.
