I am selling my 2016 Alien Audio Constellation 5 string bass with gig bag. It plays and sounds fantastic and weighing just a shade over 8 pounds for a 5 string makes it a joy to wear for hours on end. I bought from a previous owner several years ago and swore that I would never sell it…..but I have a custom bass that is completed and ready to ship, so I must liquidate some bass gear to help finance this.
It features 2 Nordstrand P pickups in the way that Chopper (Alien Audio) produces these hand-made basses. This bass features his signature preamp that is designed by Mo West and is revered for studio use. The treble cut/boost…with push/pull to give you traditional P or full range bandwith (hi-fi sounding) that comes close to the clarity of a Jazz pickup. The 3 band eq is, of course, low, mid and highs. It has a balance control to allow the amount of blend you would want between the 2 P pickups. And finally, the volume control is a push/pull with an overdrive circuit. This preamp is dead quiet..no hiss or hum, etc. which is probably why it is a favorite for recording.
This bass is a favorite of recording artists (Nashville’s favorite bass guitar) and touring artists. This is a bare wood body without any finish and this allows maximum resonance and low weight. It can easily be painted or coated if that is what is desired, but this is the way that I purchased it.
Other than a small scratch at the bottom edge of the bass, there are no scratches, dents, etc… on the bass. They are selling for $2500-3,000 new, so this is your opportunity to get one at half price and help me pay for my new bass.
34" scale, 18.5-19mm string spacing, a little less than 1 3/4 inches at the nut.
