I’m way too tired and on my cell phone, so I’m going to give the cliff’s notes version…
Excellent condition. Campbell’s soup Dakota Red finish by the Professor, who is either close to complete retirement or already retired. DR is superior to Fiesta Red, fight me. It’s common knowledge midrange is clearer and treble content is less harsh with DR finishes
California Era Jimmy Coppollo creation. For the comparatively brief time he was there, Jimmy produced exceptional instruments. He’s still doing so, just in Tennessee
Tremendous player. Smooth, deep, articulate…pinnacle P bass.
Lightweight at 8.5 lbs. Balances like a dream.
Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra) board. Old growth evidenced by extremely fine grain, small pores, deep coloration with beautiful orange and black silica streaks. This is not a available for years now, Jimmy’s stash of beautiful old growth stuff (and DN altogether) is gone.
Neck shape is based on a “secret menu” item from the 1960s… 1.625” nut, entirely hand-shaped round C shape toward the headstock, thin and flat by the neck joint…it’s like a compound radius but for the back of the neck…feels fantastic and didn’t become a common option for Fender due to the skill needed to pull it off and the risk of scrapping a neck if it didn’t come out correctly. Jimmy did it perfectly
Willing to trade for an AC LG4, Wal Mk III 4, Ken Smith Elite 4, maybe an Olinto to satisfy curiosity.
I honestly wouldn’t sell this one if I didn’t already own another KBP4 NYC era. Only keeping that one bc I’m an NYC product myself, so I feel a bit more connection to that one

My home is turned upside down at the moment (oil to gas conversion, new electrical, new pipes) so none of my setup is hooked up...I'll have to dig through boxes in the basement to find cables and power supplies. It's a great suggestion though and I should do it! Although not all of us have your chops
