Hi TB,
I'm selling a wonderful Alleva Coppolo LG5 that I've owned for many years.
The specs:
LG5 - alder/Indian rosewood
Candy Apple Orange Juice metallic finish
AC single coils and preamp with passive tone
60's pickup spacing
Poly finish
Smaller NYC size body
Weight is around 9.5 lbs
Comes with two bridges! The bass currently spots a Hipshot B style bridge that I got directly from Jimmy Copollo, but I will include the original vintage-style bent plate bridge. I prefer a higher-mass bridge with a quick-release option, but the vintage bridge has a great tone too and is slightly lighter.
Options/upgrades:
Neck binding (with dots)
Matching headstock
Vintage neck tint
There are a few small flaws in the bass. The first is that the low B rests against the fingerboard behind the nut before the neck slopes into the headstock, and there is a bit of wearing there. It's just a function of the way that part of the fingerboard/neck was cut; it affects absolutely nothing, and obviously isn't even visible when the bass is strung. Second, around the bottom edge of the bridge, there is a small lip in the poly finish. It looks like Jimmy may have put the bridge on a bit tight (or before it was totally dry), and the finish raised just slightly (pic below). However it happened, the bridge sits perfectly flat on the body, and the strings are straight as an arrow along the neck, with perfect spacing from the B and G strings to the fingerboard edge. Both of these are factory conditions. There is also a small ding by the neck pocket.
The overall condition is very good, as I'm sure you will see from the photos.
Will ship in an SKB hard case for protection.
Trade interest: MTD 534-24, 634-24, USA Saratoga 5, Sadowsky 5-string jazz, +/- cash as appropriate
Sale: $4500 USD shipped to Canada/USA
