Hi! I've been collecting pickups for a while now, and I've learned what I like and what I don't like so much. Plus, I just plain have more pickups than I will ever use!
First up, a pair of Nordstrand Big Split five-string pickups, in EMG 40 shells. Spaced for 18mm, but it's not that critical.$150 for the pair. SOLD.
Next, a pair of EMG 40JCSX five-string pickups. These sound like the 40JX, but the CS adds an extra little bit of warmth. I liked them, but I thought they were a bit "polite" compared to my EMG 40CSX and EMG 40DC. One of them has a subtle scratch across the top, see photo.$125 for the pair SOLD.
Next, a Lace Alumitone Bass Bar 35. This is one of the older ones, with the matte finish. I polished it up a tiny bit. Three-conductor, not four, but I'm pretty sure that still allows for the "single coil" mode. Works great! $60.
Last, a pair of Guyker five-string soapbars, in Bartolini P2 size (4.25" by 1.25"). From a distance, these look like Nordstrand Big Blades, but they don't sound like Big Blades. I bought them from Amazon on a whim, just to see. They were cheap. They sound - nice enough. Relatively low output, relatively mild response. Polite. Two-conductor wire, so I believe they're true single coils. $20 for the pair. Did I mention they were cheap?
All prices shipped in the US. Will entertain international enquiries, but shipping will likely cost more.
Thanks for looking!
