For sale BassMods K534

I needed a 5-string passive jazz for my reggae band to replace my BEAD strung Steinberger that would also work for non-reggae gigs - pop, jazz, etc... and was reasonably light weight. I acquired this great playing and sounding BassMods K534 but it was heavy and I didn't really want the active system. So I removed the additional weight by removing:

• control plate/preamp/knobs
• pickguard/screws
• battery box
• input jack
• Dunlop straplocks buttons

I installed a brand new Obisidian wire harness with new control plate and knobs and it sounds wonderful, especially with the Labella Flats for deep reggae. For pop gigs I throw on some rounds with the easy quick release bridge.

The current weight is 9lbs. 4oz. which takes off over a full pound off the stock weight. When strapped on with a simple nylon 2" strap it still balances well. This is a player's bass, with some scratches/dings around the body (note the divots and finish wear near the input jack hole - the wood is not cracked as shown from inside the input jack hole - it is just the paint) but the back of the neck is clean and has a great profile/feel. All the original items are included.

I went back to my beloved Steinberger for reggae gigs and acquired another 5-string P-Bass for all other non-reggae gigs so I no longer need this bass. Pickup in/around Las Vegas is available.
