You're looking at a Carl S. 5 String Bass. Fairly rare, or at least you don't see these around these parts very often. This was a mystery, crapshoot purchase for me 5 years ago and it turned out to be one of the best basses I've ever bought. I could tell by the woods, the hardware and the quality of construction in the photo's that I needed to take a chance and buy it. This one's gonna hurt.
Gorgeous wine colored Cocobolo top with matching headstock, Cocobolo knobs and Cocobolo fret board. Quilted maple back with a 7 piece laminated neck (Purple Heart/Maple/Walnut/Mahogany). Unbelievably flat on the back, thin and very comfortable to play.
