I currently have three CMC muffs! Love all of them, but need to let one go to fund something else. Based on the bubble font green muff. Great build with soft touch pedal, three clipping options, and great mids.
The thing about his builds is that they are very solid and have great modern touches like top jacks, soft touch switching, and mids knob. They are all built using classic schematics.
This one is built to be closer to the Tall Font or Bubble Font green russian muffs. It sounds like the classic version: solid bass, some gritty top end, mids that help it sit in the mix.
I have been fiddling with different versions for a while and ordered one direct from him in black (pictured) that I have modified/experimented with. I bought the classic green version because I wanted to compare and contrast the classic version with my mods.
This is a very easy muff to dial in and get a good sound. It's not one of those ones that gets to loud or disappears from the mix or you constantly have to fiddle with.
I really like it a lot... I'm a builder and a modder and can't help myself as far as these things go, so I have done a lot of modding on mine-- does it make it that much better? Can't totally say
I also bought one of his violet ram's head muffs and like that a lot as well, though it is higher gain and not as overdrivey as I like for regular use-- it's more of a distorted only kind of pedal for me.
