Bought new, played sparingly at home and in the studio.
Some light player wear, and maybe a scratch or two.
Some very convincing models, and some less convincing ones.
Jazz - type neck, comfortable body style, about 9.5 lbs. I always ran it with the power adapter.
Will take pictures tomorrow.

Couple more pictures.
Plastic's still on the pickguard. Some light fingernail swirls on the finish. Very good condition.

Bump for innovation---If you record a lot or in a cover band, this IS a fun and very useful bass to have. I've owned one TWICE!

Maybe I need one of these to stop my endless bass buying and selling. I can have them all in one.

Somebody needs to jump on this if it is still around. I just bought one here on TB, and it is an excellent bass. Most of the models sound great. It is worth it for the DB setting and the synth.

Sweet neck, especially if you like the jazz feel.

The price is right on this one, too.

Thanks for the great endorsement - I'll send your fee when somebody finally buys this very clean, versatile bass. :)

Hey, just wanted to mention that while this super deal is waiting to be grabbed, I'm playing and loving my Variax bass. It's great to match your bass to the style or the song you are playing.

My biggest question before getting mine was not the sound...I had heard the clips and liked them...the question was how it actually played. The answer was clear the first time I picked it up. It is sleek and fast, a good weight and well-balanced.

My son has (a much better musician than I) has started using it for composing. He says that playing with the different bass models gives him inspiration; each sound triggers a different creative response.

Do something nice for yourself or someone you really love for Christmas...buy this bass! :bassist:

How do they feel to play? They seem to consistently get praise from people involved with recording. But how is it to slap on one and are they comfortable in your hands? Very subjective questions I know but I still must ask.

Sorry guys, - I've been away for a bit.
I guess they are OK for slapping, since there is no pickup to interfere, but you might have to remove the thumbrest.
It has a Fender Jazz - type neck. Easy to play, and the bass is pretty well balanced.

Bullfrog - I am located near Philadelphia.

Someone once told me they thought it did a good Stingray imitation. I'm sure I'd need to hear that for myself to judge but I would consider that a very good thing if it could.

How good would you say it could get a convincing Chris Squire or Geddy Lee Rick tone?

That would also be on my "must do" list for something like this.

Can it actually get an upright type tone? Never even heard if they tried to get that but it would be interesting if they did.
