This is a killer bass. I just need to give up on 5 string basses. If you have not played one of these you should. Feels and plays like a much more expensive bass. The input jack needs replacing. It works but the cord is kinda loose in the jack. If you dont wrap the cord around your strap it can pull out easily.

Just last night I was searching to see if one of these was out there. I have one as my main bass and have debated getting another for "experimentation" with pups and stuff.

This is a nice one, it's the second i've had. I regretting letting the first go and snapped this one up about 6 months ago. I just have no use for a 5 string bass even though i think i do about once a year.

It's 34" scale. Not sure of the weight but it feels stout. I'm going to guess it around 10 pounds.

Really. I'd say more like 8-9 for nine. It's light than any Sadowsky or Lakland I've had.

Still debating. Do I want 2 of the same bass? Tempting to have one "stock" with single coil pups and Yamaha preamp and the other nodded like I have now with the Bartooini dual coils and preamp. Hmm.....

I will include shipping in the price if you can do a money order or I'll even take a personal check from a TB'er with some history and good feedback.

I thought I was going to buy a passive 4 string for some variety, but if someone doesn't buy this soon, I may have to get it to go along with my Wine Red BB605. The neck is so comfy on these...

That is sweet! I love the finish. It would really go well with BBNII5.

What are the differences between this and the BBNE2 ?

Here's the info on the BB605 from the Yamaha website:
This BB Series 5-string model features a built-in NE1 Parametric EQ and the BBNE2 Nathan East style body silhouette. ・Nathan East Sculpted Body Design ・Solid Alder Body ・5-String Maple Neck ・Rosewood Fingerboard ・24 Frets ・Single Coil Pickups ・Nathan East NE-1 Parametric EQ ・Diecast Chrome Tuners/Hardware ・Black, Natural, Wine Red Finishes ・Limited Lifetime Warranty

I found the BB604&5 service manual online somewhere free. Someone is trying to sell it on ebay. Send me a PM, and I'll email it to you.

The BBNE2 is, I believe, the Nathan East signature model. Different electronics, ebony board, stuff like that.

The 605 is a GREAT bass. It's light, the neck is so easy to play, and the body is small which I like.

What's the center-to-center spacing at the bridge? Or just the center of the B to the center of the G-string? Also, any idea of the neck width at the last fret?

I've got some pickups waiting for a 24-fret 5-string and this may be a good fit, depending on those measurements. I'm also considering a graphite neck...

If this is still here in a couple days I may very well have to buy it. People have more than one P or J or Ray or whatever so why not more than one 605. Mine is modified with Bart electronics so I could leave this one stock...maybe watch for a black one and mod that to passive. I'd have all 3 color options, and 3 killer basses.
