SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!

It's been a while since I've posted on TB but I've been a long time member. I know this is the right place for serious bass bass players looking for good instruments. First let me say two things, I never thought I would sell this bass, I don't want to and I'm certainly going to regret it but after purchasing an amp, I have no choice. Secondly, this bass has been used. I've toured all over the country with it, played it many different bands, and it's seen it share of hard playing. This bass is by no means in perfect cosmetic condition, however it does still play like a dream. I've been away at school for the passed year so it has just been sitting in the case under my bed for a year. I'm sure it will need a good, proper set up, and definitely needs to be cleaned up a bit. I'm going to post as many pictures as I can of all the scratches, chips, and dings on it. I don't want anyone to purchase this bass thinking it's right out of the store. I'm probably making this sound much worse than it is but I'll let the pictures speak for me.

I have about 40 other pictures on my computer so if you want any other ones just let me know and I can send them over to you. Like I said before the bass plays really well, really needs a set up since it hasn't been played for a year or so.

I made the sad choice to use a pick for the last band this bass was used in and this was the result. The scratches are in the finish, I don't really know if there is anything you can do to make them less noticeable, I never really tried.

This is the "belt" rash on the back. I don't even wear belts but this happened at one show when the little rivets on my jeans were hitting the back.

The finish on both side of the bridge is chipping up a little.

These pictures show what damage is on the bass the best I can. The backs got some little dings in in that don't really photograph well and some of the metal parts need a good cleaning. The neck is nice and straight and both inputs work perfect. The bass sounds great.

Due to the cosmetic conditions of this bass I'm only asking $1300 plus shipping. Absolutely no trades sadly, I need to sell it. I think that is a pretty fair deal for some scratches and dings but make an offer. I would prefer to deal locally (lower New York) and am will to travel a little or ship the bass. I will ship the bass with no problem but I've never had to ship a bass before, especially not one with a hardshell case so I'm really sure where to even get a box to fit it. Any ideas? Any questions please feel free to ask!

Thanks for looking everybody! Happy holidays.

Maybe try lowering your price too. Just a suggestion. If you need it gone in a month, lowering the price $100-$200 you should easily find a buyer. The thing is that $1300 is a decent price, but given the condition and the fact that it really needs a good setup, lowering the price might be a good idea.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind one with a few battlescars and I know there are others out there like me, but I also expect to pay a little less for one with battlescars.

If you still have it in 2-3 weeks, I might be on it- depending how sales at work go.

FWIW, I had a 4001 back in the day. There's a car polish you can get that comes in different colors- meant to remove scratches. It worked great on mine for minor blemishes.
