Once again, I am not 5 string player, this one is great although. Bought it for some recording, did that, now I just do not foresee utilizing this much.

Peavey Grind Bass 5 BXP NTB. Multi-laminate mahogany/imbuya (maple) neck with a 35" scale and 24 frets. The neck is straight all the way to the 24th fret. I removed the stock Peavey passive harness (will be included) and added an active circuit which really made this bass come to life. It sounded good to start with, but this sure helped! It now has a Push/Pull for active/passive operation, volume, blend, and treble, bass. I added some strap locks as well.

The only downside is cosmetic with the neck through holes not being drilled completely parallel to one another. This does not affect anything other than the cosmetics, as the intonation can be set where the string breaks across the bridge saddle. So, it intonates perfectly. And is intonated perfectly at the moment. So, it was a non issue to me.

I have $300 invested (here is the ebay auction where I purchased it) in the guitar plus another $60 for the preamp and $15 for the straplocks. You can have it for $315 shipped. You won't be dissapointed, the action is super close, what a neck. A hell of a lot of bass for not very much money. I was stunned.

Trades? I could use a Sunburst Precision with rosewood neck. Or some sort of 50's reissue. I don't know hit me up with what you have, I am pretty open on trades. I am looking for a guitar at the moment as well. I need an acoustic and electric.

I will have to check the weight later, not terribly heavy for five string although, I have 4's that weigh more.

I believe they are made in China. And really more bass than I have ever seen for the price. Stunning that Peavey pulled this off.

My luthier friend has a four-banger of this. I was truly impressed by the way it played. Very nice bass...

Very true. I wish I could play 5 strings for longer than a few minutes. I would swap this for the four string version although.

Would also be interested in one of the small single rack space power amplifiers available these days. (Peavey, etc.)
