Details

**This is only for sale locally (Madison, WI and Minneapolis, MN areas) until August 13th, after which it will be available to anywhere in the CONUS. If you would like to get "in line" for when it opens up to being shipped, just send me a PM. If you are first in line when August 13th rolls around, then it's yours!**

If you're looking for that sound that only a vintage Mustang can give you, look no further. This is a beautiful '77 (according to Guitar Nucleus - Fender Serial Numbers) short-scale Fender Mustang. It pains me to see it go, but I'm really needing money for college.

Flaws
  • Thumb rest is missing
  • Volume knob is missing
  • VERY shallow gouge on the back of the neck, behind the first fret (see picture below)
  • There are a couple surface-level finish scratches (see pictures below)
  • There are a few minor dings just from basic usage (see pictures below; I don't actually consider these a flaw at all - it looks really cool IMO)
  • Overall it probably needs a decent set-up as it hasn't gotten much play time in the past ten or so years

That is by far the best looking piece of wood I've ever seen used on a Mustang body.

Okay. School is quickly approaching, along with the expenses that come along with that.

PRICE DROP: $900 shipped. Will also entertain trade offers for 5 string basses in the price range of $1000-$1500 ( specifically Lakeland or MTD). This is a fantastic price on vintage instrument here.

Okay, so I've been playing this bass a lot over the past few weeks, which is something I hadn't done for years and years. It seems now that there is a slight electrical hiccup, in that every once in a great while, the lower pickup (the one that picks up the sound from the D and G strings) seems to cut out. It doesn't cut out all the way, but those strings all of a sudden sound like they are in the distance. This is remedied by a very light touch to the pickup, which makes me think that it's a simple fix - just some loose wires or something.

Given this information and my need for money at this point in time, I'd be willing to ship it out for $725. This is the absolute lowest I can go for this beauty. It's an outrageous deal, as I'm sure you realize. There's no doubt that you would need to do a little bit of cleaning and setting up, but for a vintage instrument like this, $725 is still a ridiculous price.
