At the nut or heel? Nut is less than a P but a bit more than a Jazz.

I'll measure the heel today when I strip it down.

Any idea on the age of the SB-2? Any more pics available of it? A few more details?

Mmmm L5000... my Moby Dick. This only happens when I'm broke.

POS heel width is 2 3/8

The SB2 is a late 80's to early 90s due to the string tree placement. All SB-2s have a 1 1/2 nut and are not so thin as to feel like playing a broomstick like some Jazz basses.

This SB2 for whatever reason is a more aggressive sounding one than most. Very little wear.

The SX PJ has no issues just fixed it up in hopes to be a Xmas present but nobody was interested. Has a "case" Not a full on hardshell but something that holds it.

Skinny. Here is a pic with a machinist ruler. It is my other L5K but they are the same.

Off topic, but the Iron Maidens rock! I saw them a while back open for The Atomic Punks at Cane's in SD.

It is second generation and all SB-2s had MFD's. Only the second generation SB-1 had a non MFD for a short time.

It is on hold now.

I'm the lucky guy that got the SB-2. I'm local to Jim so I picked it up last night. I also got a chance to play the other items he has for sale.

The SX was very impressive: great neck, silent electronics, and that great P-J vol-vol-tone sound. I ran it through phones and an amp, and it has a nice, warm sound. It's a great bass for triple the price and definitely gig-worthy. I was going to try to get it to a guitarist friend who's been wanting to dabble, but he just bought a vintage strat and has no cash.

The L5K, wow! The B-string is tight and not muddy, it has a massive low-down P-bass sound, and the neck (at least for me) is just the right size. And did I mention it's gorgeous?!?! The string spacing is a little tight, but was just right for my little girly hands. This is a great 5-string for anyone (maybe not a slapper), but perfect for someone with smaller hand. It has the best b-string on a 34" scale that I've ever played. And once again, with ~400 out there, it's rare and a bargain.

I'm thrilled with the SB-2 - sounds great and it looks more like a GC demo than a 20+ year old bass. The L5K looks just as good.

And finally, Jim was a pleasure to meet and deal with. A nice, knowledgeable guy who I'd buy from again in a second. Highly recommended.
