Hi all,

I'm reposting this incredible bass. I made the move to a Q5 and it's time to pass on a truly great instrument that I'm afraid won't get the use it deserves from me anymore. This Sandberg Ken Taylor 5 was my first fiver--and it's a magnificent and rare bass (at least in these parts). I'm asking $975 shipped to CONUS. I welcome other offers and trades and I would be particularly interested in Eden heads and cabs (210 or 410 xsts especially).

Visually, it's a stunner--everyone who ever sees this is blown away by the black matte finish that lets the grain come through (I'm not sure whether the pics will capture this effect).

And it plays like a monster. There is almost no sound you can't get by manipulating the 3-band eq; everything from deep dub to great slap tones can be found with minimal exploration.
This bass really opened up my playing by inviting me to try new things and experiment with new techniques.

I'm the second owner and the first, was an extremely conscientious collector. The good news is that this bass was kept behind glass for most of it's life. Sadly, he did manage to put in some buckle rash which is unfortunate. Obviously, it does nothing to the sound, but it does detract from the look of the back of the bass (pics sould show it).

Other than that, it's is good shape. I put one very minor ding into the thin side of the body (detailed in pics) and there's another, almost invisible small one on the back of the neck. All cosmetic.

Here's everything I think I know about the bass

Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5-String
Likely made in Germany between 2002 and 2004
34" scale
24 frets
2 Delano SplitCoil Soapbars
3-Band active EQ
Pickup Blend
Pickup Coil Split Switch
I'm decently sure it's a Euro Ash body
Maple Neck
Rosewood Fingerboard

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks,
Chad

Thanks, everyone for the offers. All PMs replied to and I've amended the original post--there are definitely things I would trade for.

Hi Redfin,

Thanks for the questions. The last set up was done about a year ago by a great tech. There's a set of Alembics on there right now that are due for a change by my standards (I change about every 4 months)

I'm open to trades, but my list is probably pretty small and doesn't include any basses at the moment. As always, that's a flexible rule...

I have WT 400 and 4x10 Cab I would consider trading. The cab has the rear port and is a 4 ohm. This is a loud combo imo. Have gig bag and am original owner of head.
