My three knob CR blows away my old five knobber and is probably the easiest playing bass I own. Wish I could take a plunge on this one!

I don't care if it has 3 or 5 knobs when it comes to a Smith. I liked all 35 I've owned in the past.

Interested ... But I'm curious why the 3 knob is more desirable ?

Because there highly collectable and Ken discontinued these decades ago. I tyred all the models and to me vintage 3 knobs sound more killer than the newer smiths that just my honest opinion lol. Does not mean the newer smith are bad no :-)! I just love the classic smith the older the better.

Having owned so many over the years both
3 and 5 knob Smith, the 3 knob pre has much more boost in bass frequency plus the overall tone is Sweeter and not as harsh as the 5 knob with the mid boost knob.Ken said to me that they are diffrent pre amps.

Fernando, thats one of the best looking Smiths you have owned. You need to go to a doctor and checked out, your sickness is progressively getting worse. Please tell me your not selling it to get a Tobias. If so your living in "groundhog day". Good luck with the trade/sell
