SOLD
75 p-bass. All original except the thumb rest, it is dark brown and I would guess that it came with a black one, but the brown one looks to be very old as well. (*EDIT* I have been told that the thumb rest is original. Look down in the thread.)
The overall condition is very good however in full disclosure I will point out any imperfection. I am only the second owner of this bass, I got it from an 80-year-old lady who played if for years then put it up for about 20 years. This bass has been played. I tried to take picks of anything that I thought would help.
• 9.4 lb w/o pup and bridge covers.
• A-neck precisions are a bit of a rare breed. It has 1.5” jazz width nut.
• The body finish looks great, but does have some small dings on the back and bottom, very small and hard to photograph.
• The headstock had a few nicks near the end and the finish has tiny cracks all up and down it. It also has a spot missing the poly finish on the end. (see pictures)
• Frets are warn some, but plays great with no buzz at all.
• Strings are super old flats that have been on it for at least 15 years. No joke, this thing sounds like plugging in James Jamerson himself. Super thump
• Ships in original case. One of the 3 latches is broken, but case functions fine.
• Truss rod screw is almost flush, plenty of adjustment left.
• Serial number is 608281
• Neck heel code is hard to read but the last two numbers are 54= 1975, 4th week. The A is visible, meaning Jazz bass width at nut.
• Pots are clean and function without scratching.
• Pot codes- First is 1377438. 137=CTS brand, 74=1974 and 38=38th week.
• Pot codes- Second is hard to read, it has solder and a wire attached.
• Pickups are old grey bottom, coded 73774 & 74867 which means 1973 and 74
$1600 and we split the shipping costs. I’d prefer fee free payment if possible. Thanks.
